Beer- and Whisky Fair 12-15 December 2024

Taste exclusive beers and small distilleries and learn from passionate brewers and distillers. For two days, Silja Symphony's conference area is transformed into a lively craft beer and whisky fair, with tastings and masterclasses led by experts. In the evenings, the taste journey continues with specially composed dinners.

One evening you'll be served a multi-course menu to match the bold beer flavors of Põhjala & Pühaste, and the next evening you'll enjoy a gourmet dinner in perfect harmony with Compass Box's fine whiskies.

For two captivating days, Silja Symphony's conference section will be transformed into a lively fair dedicated to craft beer and whisky, offering you the chance to sample unique brews and silky, alcoholic beverages. The Beer and Whiskey Fair will be held in the ship's conference area on the outbound voyage on 13 December from 15:00 to 22:00 (local time). The entrance ticket includes:

  • Two-day entrance to the fair + goodie bag
  • Tasting glass + 15 tasting coupons (value 30€)


Age limit 18 years. You add the entrance ticket to the fair in the online booking under Onboard Services.

Dinner at Bon Vivant 12, 13 & 14 December

Bon Vivant welcomes you to sumptuous special dinners, hosted by guest experts from different beer & whisky houses. Our Chefs de Cuisine have created four-course menus specifically around four whiskies from Scotch whisky distillery Compass Box, or around four beers from ship's beer producers Pühaste and Põhjala. Dinner's age limit is 18. Please get in touch with our customer service department to advise us of any food allergies or special dietary requirements.

    Discover Teerenpeli

    Discover the family-owned Teerenepeli Distillery, which is the biggest distillery in Finland. Teerenpeli is known for their single malt whiskies, where they combine traditional Scottish methods with pure Finnish ingredients, such as locally sourced barely and fresh sprint water. The distillery has gained recognition for its smooth, rich flavours and sustainable production practices. The audience will be introduced some of Travel Retail exclusive products.     The Dalmore Experience

    Welcome to a masterclass with one of the most iconic and fastest growing ultra premium whisky brands in the world. We will first try The Ensemble (Trio, Quartet and Quintet) which has been finished in three, four and five different types of casks. Next up is Cigar Malt which is the ultimate accompaniment to the finest cigars. We end with King Alexander III, probably the only single malt whisky in the world with a finish of six different casks.     – Barrel aged beers

    Põhjala loves bold, dark, barrel-aged beers. In the Cellar Series, they unleash their passion for ever deeper layers of oily, velvety, liquid goodness. Põhjala uses a variety of bourbon, cognac, sherry, and tequila barrels to age their unusual creations and create unique tastes by blending several distinctly different beers aged in complementary casks. Come and join the master class with lecturer Martin Vahtra, Head Brewer of Põhjala.

Beside the larger brands our creative brewers also produce smaller series of special brews, less known to the public.     Welcome to the Beer Connoisseur master class, where we will introduce you to six different brands from four countries. Rodenbach is a historic Belgian brewery best known for its unique Flemish red-brown ales, which blend traditional brewing methods with oak cask aging. Thornbridge Brewery is recognised for consistently delivering high-quality, diverse beers, ranging from IPAs to smooth stouts and porters. Stowne Brewing is celebrated for its innovative approach that pushes the boundaries of traditional beer styles while maintaining a strong commitment to quality and craftsmanship.     Bold Galloway Spirit: Bladnoch’s flavour-first philosophy

    Indulge your senses in a Bladnoch whisky tasting like no other. Bladnoch is one of the oldest Scotch whisky distilleries and the most southerly distillery in Scotland. For over 200 years, Bladnoch Distillery has been crafting some of the world’s finest single malts. Dr. Nick Savage is the master distiller, and through his methods, he ensures the unique and complex taste of each bottle, combined with pure water sourced from the nearby River Bladnoch.     Opposite Attract: Barrel Aged x Fruited Sour by Pühaste

    The Pühaste Brewery master class focuses on two almost opposing beer styles. Showcasing powerful, uniquely crafted, barrel-aged dark beers side by side with vibrant, juicy, heavily fruited sour beers. This sensory journey will take you on a rollercoaster of flavours showing bold flavours from both worlds. Come and join the master class with lecturer Helen Aasmann (Certified Cicerone®). We will go from the sauna to your taste buds and along the way lay anchor at some crucial bits of our story, to explain what we are today.
